Samiyah Brown is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern with the State of Florida. She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from William Paterson University and her Master of Social Work from Florida Atlantic University. Samiyah has worked with children and families for over 8 years in several different settings including in-home, in-office and schools. After beginning her professional career in a preschool, she discovered her passion for working with children. She later worked in behavioral health case management, providing support and advocacy for youth 0-18 and families in the home and community setting, before ultimately transitioning to therapy. Samiyah’s experience includes working with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, anger, adjustment disorders, grief, divorce, blended families, self-esteem, and trauma. She has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy. Her experience with families is culturally diverse and includes training in cultural competence and decolonized treatment. Samiyah believes that the best progress occurs when there is a foundation of compassion, trust and empathy, so individuals and families can feel empowered in their journey toward success.
